The musical duo of Karen and Richard Carpenter and their band has captured the hearts of their fans from 1970-83 with 25 plus hit songs until the untimely death of Karen Carpenter from anorexia nervosa in 1983.

Over the past 20 years, many tribute bands featuring a Karen sound alike singer have come to South Florida to perform, including a Karen Carpenter- like singer from Miami.

Gala Grand Opening Features Legendary Broadway Star Christine Andreas

The Wick Costume Museum has undergone a dramatic high-tech transformation, resulting in a stunning new venue, rechristened The Museum Club at The Wick. The completely renovated space will thrill guests with 360-degree immersive video experiences, historic costume displays, dining, and entertainment. The premiere exhibit, entitled Ascot! features the historic original 1956 costumes of My Fair Lady, designed by Sir Cecil Beaton. The Gala Grand Opening is Friday, September 16, 2022, 6:00 PM, and includes an intimate concert by Christine Andreas, who starred on Broadway as Eliza Doolittle.  Beginning in October, patrons can experience the exhibit by calling the box office at 561-995-2333.

The Broadway at LPAC Series Announces 2023 Season Lineup at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center

LAUDERHILL, FL:  Arts Center Management (ACM), a multi-platform theatre management company, will partner with the City of Lauderhill to produce the Broadway at LPAC Series at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in 2023. In Nod to Famed Artist Jan McArt, Carbonell Board Resets Awards Night

In deference to famed stage performer, Broadway actress, theatrical producer and educator Jan McArt, who passed away last year, the 45th annual presentation of the Carbonell Awards for acting excellence has been rescheduled so it will not interfere with one of Ms. McArt’s upcoming productions.  

“The awards ceremony was moved up one week so it wouldn’t conflict with the ‘Celebration of Life’ for the much-loved actress and producer Jan McArt,” said Jeff Kiltie, president of the Carbonell Awards board.
