AVENTURA, Fla.(November 26, 2023) – Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is proud to present a “sensory-inclusive” dance performance of the holiday classic ballet The Nutcracker at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, December 9 at 11 a.m. Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is donating proceeds from this special performance to SOVENIA USA.
With dancers of all ages, colorful costumes and breathtaking music, this modified, 60-minute abridged performance celebrates the magic of the season and serves as a wonderful introduction to the ballet. Based on the tale of E.T.A. Hoffmann and featuring Tchaikovsky’s popular score, the ballet is choreographed and directed by the company’s Artistic Director Vladimir Issaev,
The event is part of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Sensory-Inclusive Series 2023/2024 that creates a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities.
Slight adjustments have been made to the production including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects. An area adjacent to the theater has been designated as the ABA Centers of Florida Sensory Quiet Room with a specially trained therapist to provide audience support.
Audiences will enjoy complimentary arts and crafts activities provided by Young at Art Museum prior to the show and a post-show character meet and greet.

In addition to the sensory-inclusive performance, Arts Ballet of Florida presents the full production of The Nutcracker on Friday, December 8 at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 10 at 3 p.m. The company also will hold its The Nutcracker Gala Night on Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m.
