The production runs from December 13 to 22 and promises an enchanting journey filled with magic, laughter, and toe-tapping tunes.
Based on Dahl’s beloved 1964 novel, this family-friendly musical features a book by David Greig and music and lyrics by the award-winning team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray). Fans can also look forward to classic songs from the original 1971 film, including The Candyman and Pure Imagination.
Taking the lead as the enigmatic Willy Wonka is Miami’s own Benjamin Leon IV, a visionary behind Loxen Entertainment. Leon, who grew up performing in South Florida’s theater scene, has been instrumental in nurturing local talent and elevating Miami’s cultural profile. “Willy Wonka is the role of a lifetime,” said Leon. “It’s thrilling to embody such a whimsical, complex character and to do so in a production that showcases Miami’s incredible talent pool.”
