Loxen Entertainment to Unwrap a Sweet Treat with ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ at Colony Theatre

(Miami Beach, FL) – Step into a world of pure imagination this  December as Loxen Entertainment brings Roald Dahl’s timeless tale, Charlie and the  Chocolate Factory, to life at the iconic Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road. The production  runs from December 13 to 22 and promises an enchanting journey filled with magic,  laughter, and toe-tapping tunes.

Based on Dahl’s beloved 1964 novel, this family-friendly musical features a book by David  Greig and music and lyrics by the award-winning team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman  (Hairspray). Fans can also look forward to classic songs from the original 1971 film,  including The Candyman and Pure Imagination

Taking the lead as the enigmatic Willy Wonka is Miami’s own Benjamin Leon IV, a visionary  behind Loxen Entertainment. Leon, who grew up performing in South Florida’s theater  scene, has been instrumental in nurturing local talent and elevating Miami’s cultural  profile. “Willy Wonka is the role of a lifetime,” said Leon. “It’s thrilling to embody such a whimsical, complex character and to do so in a production that showcases Miami’s  incredible talent pool.”

Joining Leon is a stellar ensemble cast featuring Juliette Tudela, Ricky J. Martínez, Sara  Jarrell, and a host of other talented South Florida artists. Production manager Gonzalo  Rodriguez and director Damaris López-Canales helm the production. Musical conduction is by Johann-Sebastian Guzmán, musical direction by Arn Xu and choreography by Imran  Hylton. The creative team’s vibrant costumes, stunning set design, and energetic  choreography promise a visual and auditory feast.

Loxen Entertainment, a nonprofit professional theater company, is dedicated to providing  artistic opportunities to talented individuals across South Florida. Charlie and the  Chocolate Factory is the second of three productions in Loxen’s highly anticipated 2024- 2025 season.
