Celebrated Italian American tenor Anthony Nunziata is bringing his annual “My Italian Christmas!” presentation back to Delray Beach for an exclusive holiday performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Arts Garage downtown.
Dubbed “the next great pop crossover star” by the Indianapolis Star and “America’s new romantic singing sensation” by Broadwayworld, the powerhouse vocalist and Carnegie Hall headliner—whose talent has been compared to the stylings of Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Bolton—will serenade the audience with songs that feature his soaring tenor voice.
Arts Garage is located at 94 NE 2nd Ave. in Delray Beach. Tickets range in price from $50 to $55 and are available by calling 561-450-6350 or logging on to info@artsgarage.org.
During his local visit, Anthony will sing timeless songs from the holiday, Italian, jazz and classic standards repertoires, including soul-stirring renditions of “The Christmas Song,” “O Holy Night,” “O Sole Mio,” “Santa Lucia,” “Somewhere,” “Funiculi, Funicula” and “The Greatest Wish” as well as original songs from his award-winning “Together for Christmas” holiday album (Broadwayworld’s Album of the Year).
He will be joined on stage this year by special guests Avery Sommers and Meri Ziev. Master keyboardist Bobby Peaco is returning this year to provide exceptional accompaniment for the performers.
An outstanding actress and singer, Sommers has been seen at regional theaters throughout South Florida. On Broadway, she appeared with Ken Page in “Ain’t Misbehavin’.” Other Broadway credits include “Chicago,” “Showboat” and “Platinum.”
Vocalist Ziev performs around the world, singing at cabaret venues, jazz clubs, condominiums, galas and fundraisers, in person, online and poolside. She is also the co-founder of the newly organized South Florida Cabaret Singers community.
Anthony Nunziata is the Brooklyn-born, Nashville-based singer and songwriter who brings his soulful musical style to classic jazz, pop standards, classical-crossover and his original tunes.
The singer himself offered this assessment of his career: “I’m in the business of making people feel good, making people happy. I’m grateful I get to tell stories for a living through lyrics and music. To make people laugh, cry, feel something — there’s nothing like it.”
He has performed more than 400 concerts during the past decade, headlining major performing arts centers, theaters, symphony concert halls, jazz clubs and private events across the country and around the world.
The acclaimed tenor has also achieved notoriety for appearances with such orchestras as the New York Pops, Detroit Symphony, Cleveland Pops, Colorado Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, Kravis Pops, Annapolis Symphony, Plymouth Symphony, Cape Cod Symphony, Toledo Symphony and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, among others.
He has also entertained at private events across the United States and recently in England, Spain, Italy and Singapore.
The classically trained song master is hailed by Broadwayworld as “an explosion of love and entertainment.” Anthony recently co-headlined Carnegie Hall for two sold-out concerts with the New York Pops Symphony Orchestra. He also recently appeared in the Netflix film “The Last Laugh” opposite Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss.
Anthony’s recently penned original songs include co-written collaborations with Rudy Perez, Blessing Offor, Tigirlily, Victoria Shaw, Jim Brickman, Jackie Evancho, Jeff Franzel, Tom Kimmel, Maria Christensen, Nina Ossoff and Porter Carroll Jr., Kathy Sommer, Jasmine Power and Dan Godlin.
His melodies have also been featured on MTV, Comedy Central, CBS News, NBC News and Good Day NY. His original pop song “The Gift Is You” – which he wrote to honor his mother’s battle with breast cancer (she is now cancer-free) – is currently being used as an anthem for The Susan G. Komen Foundation which is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research.
Anthony studied music, acting and directing at Boston College and trained in improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City.
Featured on “Good Morning America” and “The Rachael Ray Show,” Anthony said he is most proud of his “ARTS MATTER!” Educational Outreach Initiative and master class workshops that educate and inspire students to fearlessly pursue their passions.
