The City of Aventura is proud to partner with FUNDarte to present Rayuela by Marco Flores, a dynamic flamenco dance performance, at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3. This event is part of FUNDarte’s annual Out (Loud) in the Tropics series, co-presented with the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. Rayuela, meaning “hopscotch” in Spanish, is the latest flamenco creation by the versatile artist Marco Flores. For Flores, flamenco is a space where his artistic and vital impulses are boundless — where they find their truest expression. In Rayuela, Flores encounters the essential truths of flamenco and experiences them in their entirety. He embodies them with kaleidoscopic emotion, from his intangible dance and a clean heart that belongs to an artist of the 21st century. With direction by Francisco López, Flores celebrates the first 20 years of his career in this piece that is a metaphor for his life where he is accompanied by renowned musicians, singer Alfredo Tejada and guitarist José Tomás Jiménez.
