Kutumba Theatre Project is “coming out” of hibernation! After several successful sold out shows in South Florida and NYC, Kutumba is hitting the stage again with the EAST COAST PREMIERE of Spy for Spy, by Kieron Barry, directed by Kim Ehly, Artistic Director and Founder of Kutumba Theatre Project.
About Spy for Spy: Spy for Spy is a comedy with emotional depth. Playful, sophisticated, funny and heartfelt, the play is a series of six scenes that follow the relationship between Molly and Sarah, who couldn’t be more different and yet they fall for each other. Ever had a kiss change your life? What about seven kisses? And that’s just the beginning…or is it?
Audience members will randomly select from a stack of 6 songs to determine the order of the play for the following night, like a playlist shuffled. Similar to our memories, they can be jumbled, and no matter how they’re put together, they make sense. The play is a triumph cleverly crafted, so neatly, that the same story is accomplished every night no matter what the order. There are 720 versions of the same play. Every night is a Sapphic love story, shuffled!
Spy for Spy runs from July 10 through August 3, 2025. Preview performance on July 10 at 8pm. Opening night is July 12 at 8pm. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm with two Thursday shows at 8pm on July 10 (preview) and July 17. (No performances on July 18 and July 19.)
