New this season, the series features three festival-style weekends celebrating rock, Caribbean and soul music, as well as a themed Tango Night on November 15.

The Carbonell Awards Welcome Four New Judges for 2024-2025 Theatre Season
(South Florida – September 4, 2024) The Carbonell Awards, South Florida’s most highly coveted recognition of theatrical production and performance excellence, today announced four new judges. They will bring the total number of Carbonell judges to 46, including 18 in Broward County, 11 in Miami-Dade, and 17 in Palm Beach County. Collectively, they will see and evaluate nearly 100 different productions at more than 30 professional theaters. The current theater season runs between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025.

Kyle Selig, who created the role of Aaron Samuels in Broadway’s Mean Girls and also played Elder Price in The Book of Mormon, steps into the role of Jacob Jankowski in the Tony-nominated musical beginning September 3 at the Imperial Theatre. Selig succeeds Grant Gustin, who played his final performance September 1.

Get ready to be transported into the chilling world of Edgar Allan Poe as Pompano Beach Arts presents The House of Poe’s Horrors. This immersive haunted house experience will bring the author’s dark and twisted tales to life, offering guests a thrilling adventure filled with jump scares, surprises, and unforgettable memories. The Pompano Beach Cultural Center will be transformed into a mesmerizing maze of themed zones each inspired by a classic Poe story. From the eerie “Oval Portrait” to the terrifying “Pit and the Pendulum,” guests will encounter a variety of chilling scenes and encounters. The experience will run October 24-26, from 6-9pm. Each 30-minute experience is limited to 40 people at a time, tickets are $13 per person at www.pompanobeacharts.org.
