Adrienne Arsht Center Launches The Arshties, a New Musical Theater Awards Program for Miami-Dade High Schools
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is proud to announce the launch of THE ARSHT HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATER AWARDS PROGRAM, affectionately referred to as THE ARSHTIES, a new annual program designed to celebrate, elevate and expand musical theater education in Miami-Dade County high schools. This marks the Adrienne Arsht Center’s latest investment in arts education, offering students and teachers professional-level experiences and recognition for their work both on and off the stage. The development of The Arshties was funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.

Pompano Beach Arts Launches its 2025 – 2026 Artists in Residence Program
The City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is delighted to host the launch of its annual Artists in Residence (AiR) Program with its first exhibition on Oct. 3, 2025 at Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) in Pompano Beach.
During October thru June, eight artists carefully selected by a distinguished panel of judges, and one AiR alumnus, will participate in this exclusive program at the historic BaCA. Each artist experiences a solo exhibition for one month during the nine-month residency.
The Carbonell Awards Welcome Four New Judges for 2025-2026 Theatre Season
The Carbonell Awards, South Florida’s most highly coveted recognition of theatrical production and performance excellence, today announced four new judges. They will bring the total number of Carbonell judges to 48, including 18 in Broward County, 11 in Miami-Dade, and 19 in Palm Beach County. Collectively, they will see and evaluate more than 100 different productions at more than 30 professional theaters. The current theater season runs between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026.

On paper, Jenna Fischer and Lee Kirk seem like a typical Hollywood couple, both immersed in the worlds of film and television. Fischer starred as Pam Beesly in all nine seasons of NBC’s The Office, winning over a loyal fan base that still follows her work on the popular Office Ladies podcast, which she co-hosts with former castmate Angela Kinsey. Kirk, who guest starred in one episode of The Office and directed another, has also written and directed films such as The Giant Mechanical Man, Ordinary World, and the upcoming New Year’s Rev.
Carbonell Awards Announces Finalists for 2024-2025 Theater Season
Gary Schweikhart, board president of the Carbonell Awards, South Florida’s Theater & Arts Honors, today announced the top finalists in 20 competitive categories for the 2024-2025 theater season. More than 100 professional productions at 33 theatres were evaluated by a diverse group of more than 40 judges representing all three participating counties (Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach).
