With six two-week productions spanning everything from ‘50s sock-hop charm to sharp Sondheim sophistication, this upcoming lineup offers something for every kind of theatergoer.
The Marvelous Wonderettes (October 10–19, 2025) kicks things off with a trip back to the Springfield High School prom, circa 1958. Featuring a soundtrack of beloved doo-wop hits like “Lollipop” and “Stupid Cupid,” the musical follows four friends—Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy—through teenage dreams and adult realities. The second act reunites the girls a decade later, showing how their friendship endures even as life takes its twists and turns.
In November, Steel Magnolias (November 7–16, 2025) invites audiences into Truvy’s beauty salon—a haven where Southern women share gossip, grief, and the kind of tough love that keeps them grounded through all of life’s ups and downs. Warm, witty, and quietly profound, this beloved play captures the strength found in female friendship and the resilience it takes to weather heartbreak.
Come January, the stage lights up with Beehive (January 9–18, 2026), a musical celebration of the women who defined the sound of the ‘60s. Through chart-topping hits like “Be My Baby” and “Son of a Preacher Man,” six women tell a coming-of-age story that echoes the social and cultural changes of the decade. It’s a vibrant tribute to a generation shaped by big hair, bold voices, and seismic change.
Next up is the contemporary romantic comedy First Date (February 6–15, 2026), a fast-paced musical that turns an awkward blind date into a night of unexpected revelations. As Aaron and Casey try to break the ice over drinks and dinner, their inner thoughts—and past relationships—materialize on stage, giving the audience a hilarious and heartwarming glimpse into the chaos of modern dating.
In March, Boca (March 13–22, 2026) brings the quirky charm of a South Florida retirement community to life through a series of interconnected short comedies. With its satirical yet affectionate take on life after 60, Boca blends Botox, brunch, and bridge games into a surprisingly poignant reminder that joy can be found at any age—especially in Florida sunshine.
Finally, the season closes in May with Side by Side by Sondheim (May 8–17, 2026), a sleek, song-driven tribute to the man who redefined the American musical. Showcasing highlights from Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, and more, the revue offers a crash course in Sondheim’s lyrical genius and emotional complexity. For both longtime fans and newcomers to his work, it promises a night of elegant storytelling and unforgettable music.
“As long-time producers of theater in South Florida, we are honored to continue to develop the resident theater company Pompano Players in partnership with Ty and the City,” said ACM CEO Kevin Barrett. “Our first season produced some outstanding performances and high-quality productions, and we are determined to raise the bar even higher in our second year.”
