Vertical Festival will bring filmmakers, actors, writers, producers, and content creators to Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, November 22, 2026, for a day celebrating vertical storytelling and the growing microdrama industry.
Presented by Giannetti Films Foundation, with Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival as presenting sponsor, the festival will feature screenings, industry panels, awards, and networking opportunities. Tickets are on sale now.
Creators from ReelShort, DramaBox, and GammaTime will lead panels and Q&A sessions, sharing insights into creating stories for vertical audiences. Industry conversations will explore writing, production, financing, and distribution, giving attendees opportunities to learn, meet collaborators, and connect with professionals working in the field.
Vertical films are created for the upright screens audiences use on their phones. Microdramas bring serialized stories to that format through short episodes, fast-moving plots, and cliffhangers. Vertical Festival creates a place for audiences and creators to explore this evolving form of entertainment together.
The festival welcomes creators across genres, including drama, comedy, horror, reality, and experimental storytelling.
For South Florida’s creative community, the event offers a chance to discover new work and take part in conversations about the future of film and television, right here in Fort Lauderdale.
