‘L’CHAIM: A TOAST TO THE JEWISH LEGACY OF BROADWAY’ MUSICAL REVIEW AT FOUR SOUTH FLORIDA VENUES FEBRUARY 18-21

  For over a century, The Great American Songbook of musical theater shows was dominated by Jewish songwriters through 2025. Four New York based singers and actors (who are also Jewish) will be recalling how the Jewish composers shined in creating memorable show tunes by singing their famed songs in “L’Chaim: A Toast to the Jewish Legacy of Broadway” to be performed on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and Thursday, Feb. 20 at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Aventura, Friday, Feb. 21 at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Center in Davie and Thursday, Feb. 27 at The Hub at Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest.

‘JERSEY BOYS’ SHOWS STAYING POWER AS JUKEBOX MUSICALS ARE SUPREME IN SOUTH FLORIDA THEATERS

   For those who long to learn more about the lives of their favorite popular music icons, two South Florida theaters offer what audiences calls “jukebox musicals” this month with “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” running at The Wick Theater in Boca Raton through February 16  and “Jersey Boys”” running at Actors Playhouse in Coral Gables through February 23.

DREW ANTHONY BECOMES ‘DEAN MARTIN’ IN TRIBUTE SHOW AT AVENTURA CENTER AND BOCA BLACK BOX

  Since singing the songs of The Great American Songbook of the 1940s-70s with his grandmother in Connecticut as a young man, Drew Anthony was told for many decades how much he resembled and sounded like singer Dean Martin. Martin first starred as the musical half of a comedy/music duo with Jerry Lewis from 1946-56, before starring on his own until he passed away in 1995.
