ARCA IMAGES PRESENTS MIAMI PREMIERE OF “LA TRAVESIA” BY JOSEP MARIA MIRO

Internationally renowned Catalán playwright Josep Maria Miró’s acclaimed play La Travesia (The Journey) will have its Miami premiere of a new adaptation when South Florida’s own Arca Images brings its production to the Westchester Cultural Arts Center from July 11 through 20. Presented in partnership with the Center, Mexico’s Ajedrez Eventos, Roxy Theater Group and Miami-Dade County Auditorium, this will be a special Spanish version, with simultaneous English translation using wireless headphones. This powerful, poignant and thought-provoking work intricately weaves together themes of faith, compassion and moral dilemmas through the transformative journey of Sister Cecilia.

It’s Only Life, a revue featuring the sophisticated, deeply felt music and lyrics of John Bucchino, will be performed by six talented teenagers at Palm Beach Dramaworks from June 27-29. The show is being staged by theAcademy@pbd, a summer program that offers rigorous, professional-level training for both teen actors and stage managers and creates a safe and positive environment for optimal learning. In addition to the performers, two students are working on the production as assistant stage managers.

MALTZ JUPITER THEATRE RECEIVES $2 MILLION DONATION FROM ROE GREEN AND THE ROE GREEN FOUNDATION TO EXPAND THE GOLDNER CONSERVATORY

Maltz Jupiter Theatre announces that it has received a generous $2 million donation from Founding Board Member Roe Green and the Roe Green Foundation, designated for the expansion of The Goldner Conservatory. The $2 million donation is part of a larger fundraising campaign for the Conservatory’s expansion. Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed by the fall. From now on, it will be named “The Goldner Conservatory at the Roe Green Education Center.”
