Maria Friedman Is Finally Bringing Her Olivier-Winning Performances to Broadway
Maria Friedman is a beloved fixture of the West End stage, with three Olivier Awards (London’s version of the Tony Awards) and a host of world class performances to her name. Over a career spanning more than three decades, she’s played such iconic roles as Dot in Sunday in the Park With George, Mary in Merrily We Roll Along, Fosca in Passion, Sukie in The Witches of Eastwick, Mother in Ragtime, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, and Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, among many others.
Broadway Classic is Reimagined for South Florida Audiences on March 14-April 7

The Center’s intimate Carnival Studio Theater will be transformed into the gritty Kit-Kat Klub, where audiences will be surrounded by dancers and musicians. CABARET features an all-local cast led by South Florida natives and Carbonell Award winners Lindsey Corey as Sally Bowles and Elijah Word as the Emcee.

For the past year, musician Joe Hite has recreated the music of Barry Manilow with his eight piece band in a tribute to the famed singer/songwriter in a show titled “Daybreak:The Music and Passion of Barry Manilow” to be performed on Sunday, March 3 in two shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Boca Black Box Center for the Arts in Boca Raton.

Written by Christopher Demos-Brown, this play provides a thought-provoking story of a collegiate professor with privilege being held accountable for her insensitivity. It is a story of stereotypical characters fearing cancel culture, with no rise or break for their transgressions, resulting in tragedy for all.
