New City Players mounts it’s postponed pandemic production

Somewhere in Philadelphia, Elliot has returned from Iraq and is struggling to find his place in the world. Somewhere in a chat room, recovering addicts keep each other alive, hour by hour, day by day. The boundaries of family and community are stretched across continents and cyberspace as birth families splinter and online families collide. This beautiful Pulitzer Prize winning play is a heartfelt meditation on lives on the brink of redemption.

The production was originally slated for May 2020 and, as with many other companies in the region, pushed back several times until it was officially slated as the season closer for NCP’s 2021-2022 season.

Water by the Spoonful will be directed by Resident Director, Elizabeth Price and star Alex Joyel, Pryscila Cassiano Salinas, Arlette Del Toro, Tyler Fitch, Christopher Dreeson, Fawad Siddiqui, and Kent Chambers-Wilson. The show previews (pay what you can starting at $10) on April 28 and 29 and runs April 30-May 15 (Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm; Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm) and will be held at Island City Stage (2304 N.
