Little Shop of Horrors is based on the 1960 cult movie of the same name. The musical version debuted Off-Broadway at WPA Theatre in 1982 (subsequently transferring to the Orpheum) starring Lee Wilkof and Ellen Greene in a role that would become her signature and one she would preserve on film. A Broadway production was mounted in 2003 co-starring Hunter Foster and Kerry Butler. The Off-Broadway revival at the Westside Theatre resumed its run September 21, 2021, after temporarily closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
The production will also have scenic design by Kyle Dixon, costume coordination and additional costume design by Kelly Baker, lighting design by Jack Mehler, sound design by Alex Berg, assistant music direction by Robert L. Rucinski, and hair and wig design by Rachel Padula-Shufelt. The production stage manager is Stephen MacDonald, and the assistant stage manager is Dakotah Wiley Horan.
Little Shop of Horrors is produced for North Shore Music Theatre by Owner-Producer Bill Hanney, Producing Artistic Director Kevin P. Hill, and Associate Producer-Casting Director Matthew Chappell.
