BROADWAY STAR JESSIE MUELLER SINGS FROM ALL HER SHOWS ON MARCH 18 AT PARKER PLAYHOUSE

Broadway star Jessie Mueller will be singing songs from Broadway shows that she performed in on March 18 at Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale.

The show titled “Seth Rudetsky’s Broadway Concert Starring Jessie Mueller” not only features Mueller in song, but adds Rudetsky, known as a host on radio about Broadway, as an interviewer to Mueller, asking her questions relating to her experiences in concert and on the Broadway stage.

“Seth loves a good backstage story…especially if it’s embarrassing. It’s one of the things I love about our shows. (Mueller and Rudetsky are on tour with this across the country). We’re both theater geeks and love talking about all the hilarious and strange things that happen during the run of the show,” said the 40-year-old Mueller.

“We definitely like to keep the vibe fun, spontaneous and engaging for our audience. Each show is unique because each audience is unique.”

While there is no set list of songs in the show, Mueller is aware that the audience knows she won multiple awards for her portrayal of Julie in “Carousel”, Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” , Melinda in “On A Clear Day You Can See Forever”, Marian in “The Music Man” and Jenna in “Waitress”, among other musicals.

It is probable that the audience will hear Mueller sing “If I Loved You”, “I Feel The Earth Move“, “One Fine Day”, On A Clear Day”, ”She Used To Be Mine”, “Till There Was You” and “You’ve Got A Friend” among other songs that are associated with Mueller.

“I like surprising our audience. Yes, we will be doing all the hit songs that the audience associates with me but there are new songs that I also like to do.”

Mueller was born to have a career in show business. Her parents are both actors and her three siblings Her brothers Andrew and Matt and sister are all actors too and in 2017, three of the four Mueller siblings appeared in Broadway productions.

She hinted that coming from a family background in show business helped her career.

“Well, I definitely think I got a fairly realistic view of what a life in the theatre would look like. There is no smoke and mirrors, let’s put it this way!”

“I saw the good, the bad and the ugly I knew it might be a strange life, but had the possibility of being a wonderful one too. Stability is hard in this business. Maybe it’s better to say it’s slightly elusive. But I feel so fortunate in all that I’ve been able to create, explore and the wonderful people I’ve gotten to do it with,” said Mueller.

Along with Broadway musicals, Mueller starred in the 2019 Lifetime television movie “Patsy & Loretta”, portraying country singer Loretta Lynn and made her feature film debut in 2018 in Steven Spielberg’s historical drama “The Post” in which Mueller portrayed popular advice columnist Judith Martin (Miss Manners).
