AVENTURA, Fla.(August 20, 2023) – With evenings celebrating Israel, the Cuban American experience and the power of rock and roll, the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center offers uplifting and captivating events this September.
WIZO, The Women’s International Zionist Organization, presents 75 Years in the Promised Land honoring the founding of Israel on Thursday, September 7 at 8 p.m. Musical director and producer Tomer Adaddi has assembled a cast from around the world to bestow heartfelt birthday wishes for peace and prosperity upon the young nation. Tom Cohen and Lital Gabai join Adam Lahav and Nir Sheaber for an evening that will immerse audiences in a profound experience built on the sights and sounds of Israel and the far reaches of the Diaspora.
Fire Haus Projects and the UnConservatory present Always Remember, the Musical…Songs in Concerton Saturday, September 9 at 8 p.m. Thisenchanting evening of songs are from a new musical about the Cuban-American experience by Cuban-American Marilyn Morales. This epic work is a love letter to all people who have sought liberty. Morales will be joined by her husband and arranger, Kirk Whipple, in this entertaining, uplifting and enlightening concert. The duo will be joined by vocal and theater luminaries Megan Barrera, Carlton Cornish, Sebastian Hernandez, Catherine Magariño, Gerardo José Ortega and Craig Wheeler. They will be accompanied by bassist Rafael Valencia and drummer Tony Lopez.
LCA Performing Arts Company presents the Broadway sensation Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The Musicalwith performances Friday, September 29 – Sunday, October 8. This electrifying musical extravaganza combines raw talent, infectious energy and a heartwarming story that will resonate with audiences of all ages. This celebration of the human spirit and the unbreakable bonds forged through the universal language of music follows the exhilarating journey of young rock stars as they discover the freedom and empowerment that comes from expressing themselves through their instruments and voices. Performances are Fridays at 7 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and & 7 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m.
