A tale as old as time with a fresh twist! After two wildly successful sold-out runs at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Area Stage Company is thrilled to present the grand finale of its immersive Beauty and the Beast. This critically acclaimed production—winner of four Carbonell Awards, including “Best Production of a Musical,” and a Silver Palm Award for “Outstanding Direction”—is back for one final encore from November 14th through December 21st at Sunset Place.
Critics have called this reimagining “a visionary, urgent deconstruction”… or, as the French might say, “c’est magnifique!” Directed by the award-winning Giancarlo Rodaz, Beauty and the Beast invites audiences to lose themselves in Belle’s enchanted world. Step into the Beast’s castle, where you’ll be part of the action as the story unfolds all around you. Guests will dine alongside Belle in “Be Our Guest,” raise a toast with Lefou in the tavern during “Gaston,” and even present books to Belle in the Beast’s grand library, creating a Disney experience unlike any other.
“No company has ever approached Beauty and the Beast quite like this,” says Rodaz, the youngest director to receive a Carbonell Award. “We keep pushing our own boundaries, reinventing both the style and logic of the show as we bring it to new spaces.”
Reprising her role as Belle is Yarden Barr, who first captivated audiences in Area Stage’s inaugural production. Joining her for the first time as the Beast is Tristian Caldwell. Familiar favorites round out the cast, including Carbonell-nominated Frank Montoto as Gaston and Lumiere, John Mazuelos as Lefou and Cogsworth, Katie Duerr as Mrs. Potts, young star Antoinette Jane Mess as Chip, Gabriella Alfonso as Babette, and Tico Chiriboga—Carbonell Award winner for The Little Mermaid—taking on dual roles as Madame De La Grand Bouche and Maurice.
Opening night takes place on Saturday, November 16th, and the production will run through December 21st, with both evening and matinee showings available. Tickets are on sale now, with child and student discounts available. Don’t miss your last chance to be a guest at the Beast’s Castle!
