Singer Chris Ruggiero at age 23 is from an era far removed from the vintage 1950s rock and roll sounds of The Duprees, Paul Anka, Frankie Valli and other musical stars of the era.
However, Ruggiero is a fervent fan of the rock and roll era and will showcase his love and skills in performing vintage songs ranging from the 1950s through early 70s at his concert on Friday, March 17 at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Aventura.

Comedian Jackie Mason’s daughter Sheba stars in a musical about the relationship between her mother and father in The Jackie Mason Musical running now through January 22 at Empire Stage in Fort Lauderdale.
The late comedian, who died in 2021 at age 93, never publicly acknowledged that he had a daughter until he was forced by a judge to pay child support for Sheba until she was 18.
At age 79, singer/songwriter Barry Manilow is possibly the oldest performer to headline a concert at FLA Live Arena when he performs “Manilow Hits 2023” in Sunrise on January 13, along with six other venues in the American Southeast through January 21.
Promoters normally would hesitate to book a singer at age 79 in a 20,000 seat plus arena, but that is not the case for Manilow, whose concerts have filled major arenas for over 45 years.
The upcoming New Year’s Eve gala show at the Wick Theater in Boca Raton is highly unusual for both the gala’s performer, actor/singer Erich Bergen, as well as the audience.
Bergen, born and raised in New York City, will be celebrating his 37th birthday at the gala, a fundraiser for the Wick Theater, performing the songs of the singers and songwriters he and his parents remember, such as Frank Sinatra, Peter Allen, Michael Jackson, Barry Manilow, George Michael as well as the more contemporary Harry Styles, among others.
Arts Ballet of Florida celebrates the company’s 25th anniversary with a Gala performance of “The Nutcracker” on Thursday December 8 at Aventura Arts and Cultural Center in Aventura.
