Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus will once again bring the sounds of jazz to downtown Miami with the 27th season of its “Jazz at Wolfson Presents” concert series. Running from September 11, 2024, to April 16, 2025, the series features ten free performances, offering a mix of jazz professionals and student musicians.
TV star Alyssa Milano—of Who’s the Boss? and Charmed fame—made her Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of ChicagoSeptember 16.
Milano stepped into the role of Roxie Hart for a limited engagement through November 10 at the Ambassador Theatre. The evening also welcomed the return of Kimberly Marable, Raymond Bokhour, and NaTasha Yvette Williams to the roles of Velma Kelly, Amos Hart, and Matron “Mama” Morton, respectively.

Artistic Director Patrick Dupre Quigley and the Seraphic Fire artists perform a crash course on the history of Western music in one lively evening with chorus, period keyboard instruments, and cello. The contrasts and connections between eras will be on full display: the stark simplicity of Medieval chant, the rich polyphony of the Renaissance, the ornate structure of the Baroque, the elegant balance of the Classical, the passionate intensity of the Romantic, and the creative ingenuity of the Contemporary.

Or perhaps you loved the Disney animated version (I may have watched it so many times when I was little that I somehow damaged the VHS tape in the process). Or you might have tuned in for the star-studded live-action remake last summer. Regardless, one thing is for certain: when it comes to the brand-new adaptation currently being performed at Florida Atlantic University’s Theatre Lab, you’ve never seen The Little Mermaid quite like this before.
Since comedienne Chani Lisbon moved to Hollywood (Florida) from New York City last year, she has been steadily booked at many South Florida venues sharing adventures growing up in a large Jewish Orthodox family in her show titled “Unorthodox Comedy”. Lisbon will be performing “Unorthodox Comedy” twice this month on Wednesday, September 18 in Hallandale Beach and on Thursday, September 26 in Bay Harbor at two fundraising events in support of Israel Defense Forces hostage families.
