POMPANO BEACH, FL: Pompano Beach Live!, a programming arm of Arts Center Management (ACM), a South Florida-based theater management, marketing and producing firm, is presenting a diverse lineup of shows at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center in 2023.
Beginning January 27th and running through May 28th, 2023, Pompano Beach Live! will presentfive exciting productions right in the heart of the eclectic city of Pompano Beach.
Kicking off the excitement in January is the play based on a true story,Ann Landers: The Lady With All The Answers, which opens on January 27th through January 28th at 2PM. With wit, charm, and chutzpah, Ann Landers provided millions of Americans their daily dose of advice, etiquette, and encouragement. In this warm and funny one-woman play, drawn from her life and letters, Ann Landers comes to life on stage as she writes perhaps her most challenging and personal column. The show the New York Times calls “sweet, frothy, and entertaining,” written by David Rambo, is set in 1975 and was based on Lander’s real letters and life stories.
Next in the lineup is the play centered on the best-selling book by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, Love, Loss and What I Wore. Taking the stage for one night only onFebruary 24, 2023 at 7:30PM, Love Loss and What I Wore follows fragmented stories about the nostalgic power of women’s clothing. Bask in the sweet sentimentality as a starry cast of women tell funny, wistful and universal memories about their families and loved ones through the prism of their closets. With odes to black clothing, cowboy boots and outfits that make mothers cringe, Love, Loss and What I Wore is unabashedly girly—in a good way.
A best-selling South Florida Theatrical Comedy show,Italian Bred will hit the Pompano Beach Cultural Center stage on February 26, 2023 at 2PM Within this 85-minute comedy, comedian Candice Guardino slips in and out of her family impersonations as she cooks up a full meal of growing up on Staten Island. The stories in Italian Bred are derived from real childhood experiences as Guardino recounts her upbringing through hilarious storytelling, iconic music tunes, and interactions with virtual celebrity cameos that makes this Hit Show what Broadway World considers “A must see!”
Picking back up in May, Pompano Beach Live! is inviting all couples to the Cultural Center for a date night onMay 20th at 7:30PM and May 21st at 2PM,for a show unlike any other,Couples Therapy!Couples Therapy is a unique and clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is as funny as it is insightful. Audiences will go on a hilarious and interactive ride, as a pair of married relationship experts equally explore and appreciate the differences between men and women. The show offers endless humor packed with practical relationship advice rooted in science and psychology to appeal to couples of all ages!
Pompano Beach Live’s season will end with a spectacular Andrews Sisters style harmony group,The Victory Dolls, who will wow the crowds on May 28th, 2023 at a Memorial Day commemoration to honor the brave and courageous veterans and active military. Featuring 21 classic songs from the World War II and 1940s era, such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, White Cliffs of Dover, We Will Meet Again, Shoo Shoo Baby, and many others, The Victory Dolls are a group of women with enormous musical talents who have combined a vintage look and choreography with lively, original musical arrangements to create a dazzling, All-American show!
