AVENTURA, Fla. (February 19, 2023) –The City of Aventura presents The Beat Goes On Starring Lisa McClowry as Cher on Friday, March 3 at 8 p.m.
This international touring showfeatures American singer/actress McClowry as the “Goddess of Pop” in her one woman Broadway-style live stage show. The concert features Cher’s hits spanning from the ’60s to now including “I Got You Babe,” “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves,” “I Found Someone,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Woman’s World,” “Welcome to Burlesque,” “Believe” and ABBA songs from her Dancing Queen album.
Donny Osmond applauded, “Wow! Having worked with Cher in the past, Lisa is fantastic as Cher and I would recommend checking out her show!”
The Beat Goes Onfeatures a live band, video, multiple costume changes, dynamic dialogue, humor and fun-filled audience participation. Nothing is overlooked as McClowry has every aspect of playing Cher down pat: the singing and speaking voice, the walk, the talk, the costumes, the makeup, the mannerisms.
McClowry also drew raves from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Danny Seraphine who said, “Lisa is a very talented vocalist on her own but her interpretation of Cher and her music is mind blowing. We (Chicago) did a Christmas show with Sonny and Cher in the ’70s so I know what Cher looks and sounds like. Lisa really nailed it……this show is a must see for any Cher fans!!!!”
