I will never forget the first time I acted on camera. My agent had brought me in to work on a commercial read. With only two to three years of theatrical experience, I walked in and did what I was accustomed to on stage…umm…whoops. Poor, naive, eight-year-old me was completely unaware of how “big” my audition had been.
As a child, I grew up watching tons of movies. It was because of movies, I was introduced to musicals. Musicals turned movies get some flack in the theatre world.
In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to take the time to discuss a bit of my own journey, while also creating a space for others to share and find comfort in Unscripted – a place of no filter, reflection, hope, and of course, my path to the live theatre and entertainment business.

Well, now that you know how I got to where I am and what I do, I’d like to talk a little more about who I am.
Since its 2015 launch, Theatre Lab has been on the fast track to becoming one of the most prominent and promising theatre companies in South Florida, and Matt Stabile has been there every step of the way.
For most people involved in the theater in South Florida, to be seen at the theatre by George Wentzler was to be seen by the entire world. You see, George always brought his camera to the theatre. If you were in the show or attended the theatre, the chances are that George took your photo.

NBC has set the Broadway musical Annie as its next live TV musical, planning a holiday 2021 broadcast. The production will be the latest in NBC’s string of live TV musical broadcasts, which have included takes on The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Though most area theaters are still firmly closed for indoor productions, some smaller venues around South Florida have already opened their doors, with a few notable precautions in place. Each pod of audience members at the Lake Worth Playhouse’s current production of Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar And Grill by Laine Robin, playing there until this May 16th, were seated at a healthy social distance from all others and instructed to wear their masks throughout the performance.
